Reviewed by - Grade: I have had this soundtrack for years, and though it is only a compilation of pop songs, it reminds me
of the film and all the joy that it brought to me when I first saw it. Having everything 80's from the Bangles to
Luther Vandross, the songs really bring back the flash, dash and bravery of the Goonies and their wonderful mishaps.
There is only one piece from Grusin's score to this film that is on this soundtrack, a nice piano piece that develops the
bond among the Goonies. However, the infamous Fratelli Chase Theme is not on it at all. I think this is probably because
no one had any idea that particular piece of music would become so famous, so why put it on? The Fratelli Chase is available on
Dave Grusin's Cinemagic or an extended Goonies suite (18 minutes) on the rare
Edel Best of Adventure 2 CD Set.
