Reviewed by - Grade: The score to 12 Monkeys is an eccentric view of desperation and
hope in a dark society that has lost control. Buckmaster captures
the moods of the film extremely well. The mix between score and
popular songs is seamless. Though at times a little obnoxious
(mainly the Mental Ward Theme), the slow elements (Cole's Dreams
& Vivisection) make up for it by providing breaks in the
excitement. Violins add to the saddened imagery of the characters
and play throughout until the ultimate emotional finale. Of
special note are Blueberry Hill, What A Wonderful World (used
perfectly for end credits), and The Earth Died Screaming.
